Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, who is popularly known by her alias, Halsey, is an American music artist and songwriter. Her career began in 2012 with a parody of the Taylor Swift song named “I Knew You Were Trouble”. In 2015 she released her studio album which was titled ‘Badlands and it was a huge hit in the US. It sold over 97,000 copies during the first week.
She started writing at an early age of 17. She had been nominated for several awards and has won the Rising Star award by Billboard Women in Music in 2016. That’s an award for not only making a significant contribution but for inspiring others. By early 2017 Halsey had released one studio album, one extended play, five singles, and five music videos.
She chose her artistic name Hasely as rearrangement of her first name Ashley and it reminded her of a street in Brooklyn where she used to spend a lot of time when she was a teenager.
